Cars in the Woods Event with Village of Riverwoods

Come on out and meet adoptable dogs during The Village of Riverwood's Cars in the Woods event on June 14th from 11:00 AM- 2:00 PM.

The Riverwoods Residents’ Car Show, is a perfect mix of classic cars, community fun, and furry friends! This family-friendly event features a stunning display of antique, classic, and specialty vehicles owned by local residents.

We’re excited to be there with some of our adoptable dogs looking for their forever homes. Stop by our booth to meet these lovable pups, learn about pet adoption, and maybe find your new best friend!

Event Highlights:

Live music by North Shore Line, playing your favorite classic rock hits

Food for sale by Boy Scouts Troop 50—grab a tasty bite and support a great cause

Automodello premium model car showcase

Community info tables by the Riverwoods Residents’ Association and Riverwoods Preservation Council

Admission is free! Bring your family to enjoy the cars, meet adoptable dogs, explore the village playground, or have a picnic at the provided tables. Restrooms are available inside Village Hall.

We are always in need of volunteers at our Hawthorn Mall Adoption Showcase! There are so many different opportunities—from welcoming our guests, to handling adoptable dogs and/or cats, to assisting at our merchandise table, where we offer items in exchange for donations. You'll let supporters know that every dollar goes toward supporting the animals here at the shelter!
